I’m passionate about creating well presented, easy-to-use, engaging websites.

When designing websites my main focus is on how the user will interact with the interface. I like to make things simple and intuitive for the user making it easy for them to find the information they’re after or to complete the tasks they need to complete.

To achieve this, the best way is to build basic versions and test them early on in the design process so that better decisions can be made before the final website is built and launched.

Identity design

Having an identity helps to convey the personality of a product, service or person. It’s important to get it right to differentiate from the competition.

Identity guidelines help to develop clear, simple, and engaging communications to customers and assist in achieving greater consistency.

I can help by working with clients to produce a logo and some identity guidelines which may include a logo, logo application, colour swatches, typography, grid systems, imagery and examples of how these work.

Web Development

There are many types of web technologies available today. Each project will require a different approach. I can advise on which types of technologies will be appropriate and collaborate with other freelancers who have the kinds of skills necessary to get the job done.

I can provide well structured, search engine friendly, cross browser compatible, w3c validated, XHTML or HTML5 and CSS3.

I can also use a Javascript library called jQuery to add certain types of functionality to a website but often outsource this to a Javascript specialist.
